Maternity Photography Session at the Holmstead Studio

When Ashely at the Holmstead Studio reached out inviting me to a Knoxville maternity session content day at her beautiful studio, I honestly couldn’t say yes fast enough.

The Holmstead Studio is a stunning backdrop for any session. Ashley’s passion for thoughtful curation in every season makes it a dream location to photograph. From the Glassholm studio space to the clothesline set to the tall grass field, every inch of the property photographs beautifully.

I’ve shot at the space before and I’m honestly OBSESSED. But I hadn’t yet had the opportunity to photograph a maternity session there. I wasn’t going to miss this chance to create maternity photos at one of my favorite locations and connect with a few other local photographers in person.

Frank and Joy were amazing models for us and Susannah Raye Photography brought a selection of dresses from her client closet for Joy to wear.

It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun working together to move through the space to create beautiful images for Joy and Frank.

The Glassholm Studio

We started out shoot in the Glassholm Studio Space which was fully decorated in a gardening theme that went beautifully with the flowers on Joy’s dress.

The Clothesline Set

Then we gave our couple a break, changed outfits, and moved to the clothesline set and the grass around it. Joy and Frank were so cute together and at one point I noticed how they were naturally holding hands behind her back (out of view of most of our shots) and my heart absolutely melted.

Golden Hour in the Field

After one more outfit change, we finished the evening in the back field for golden hour.

The Holmstead Studio offers so much variety within a single session, and honestly, we didn’t even begin to cover all the spaces available. I’m already looking forward to my next opportunity to photograph there.
