Oak Ridge In Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

To say I’m in love with this Oak Ridge in-home newborn photography session would actually be an understatement. Everything came together so beautiful for little Charlie’s session and I’ve loved working with Sarah Beth and Alex to create these memories.

I don’t often get to go back to the same house for a session within just a matter of months, but after Sarah Beth chose her home for her maternity session, I got the privilege of visiting her beautiful home twice.

The Robbins live on a beautiful property in Oak Ridge, near Melton Hill Park (one of my personal favorite locations for outdoor photos). Sarah Beth had just finished redecorating their home when she found out she was expecting. Her hard work and design sense is evident the moment you walk through the door. Their home is warm, cozy, and welcoming.

Planning the Oak Ridge In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

The nursery was in still in progress when we did their maternity photos and it was so fun to see it finished for her Oak Ridge in-home newborn photography session. Sarah Beth and Alex chose a Ralph Lauren Teddy Bear theme for their nursery with adorable, preppy baby boy vibes.

Charlie wore a color coordinated monogramed onesie to show off his initials. Sarah Beth told me they chose family names for both his first and middle names, but decided to call him Charlie because Charles is a bit of a grown man’s name for such a little baby.

Alex was wore a navy sweater, and I brought Sarah Beth a couple dress options from my client closet. The dress she settled on was the perfect compliment to her home décor and the rest of her family’s wardrobe. Since Sarah Beth wasn’t quite able to get her engagement ring back on yet, we decided to incorporate it into a shot with Charlie’s feet.

Charlie was the chilliest little baby. He barely made a peep during their session, content to hang out with mom and dad. While I always build in time for feeding and diaper changes during my in-home newborn sessions, we actually didn’t need it this time.

We started in the nursery to celebrate the space they so carefully designed and decorated for Charlie. Then we moved to the living room. I just loved the clean aesthetic of the white walls, neutral couch, and Sarah Beth’s dress. Two of their family pets made an appearance while we worked in the living room.

As we were wrapping up their session, we decided to step outside and take a few photos on their front porch. I didn’t think we could top the indoor photos, but some of these porch photos have become my favorite newborn photographs to date.
