West Knoxville In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

After photographing this sweet family’s maternity session, I was so looking forward to meeting their baby boy, Jordan, during their in-home lifestyle newborn session.

When I arrived at their West Knoxville home, “Mimi” (who was in town to help with the baby) was giving baby Jordan a bottle while everyone else finished getting ready. I passed Mom the blue chiffon dress I brought her from my client closet and I chatted with Mimi until everyone was ready.

While we were talking, we heard what sounded like a button hit the floor. This confused us since neither of us were wearing buttons. We went looking for it and found his umbilical cord stump on the floor! We had a good laugh about it. It may not have been a clothing button, but it was a belly button.

Once everyone was dressed and ready, we settled onto the couch in their living room for our session. I always love getting to include grandparents in the newborn photos. It’s a sweet way to honor the family legacy.

Predictably, Jordan’s older sister, Havi, stole the show at the beginning of the session with her adorable smile and goofy personality.

Then we gave everyone a turn with baby and got Dad’s old baby blanket in the photographs with Mimi and baby Jordan.

As we were wrapping up their session, they asked if we could get a few photographs on the front porch swing. We took a few before I left and they ended up being some of my absolute favorites.

Remember How This Season Felt

Photographs have a special way of bringing us back to the moment they were taken. I believe we should get to relive these moments through photographs in vivid detail often.
