When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter I was overjoyed to say the least. We’d been trying for nearly two years and had plans to seek professional help the following month.
As a photographer, I was of course excited to plan my maternity and newborn photos – but being due in February, the best time for my maternity photos was December. All the pretty outdoor backgrounds are dead and gone by then. We ended up booking a beautiful December maternity session with Amanda May Photos at one of my favorite locations: Melton Hill Park, but in my heart of hearts, I longed for snow.
The following month, it snowed and I seized my opportunity. I grabbed one of my favorite dresses from my client closet, my husband, and my camera and I used him as a human tripod to capture these beautiful snowy maternity photos.
All this to say, it doesn’t snow much in East Tennessee, but when it does, it’s worth making sure you get a few gorgeous images!
If you’re on my schedule and it looks like snow, I will absolutely reschedule to get the snowy maternity photos of your dreams too.
